Fairfield Island is Chilliwack’s most northern residential neighborhood, bordered by the Fraser River to the north and the Hope Slough to the south. Although Fairfield Island is a small community, it has a couple of significant landmarks such as the well-known Minter Country Gardens, Island 22 boat launch, the most popular boat launch in Chilliwack for the Fraser River, and the 11.4 hectare Fairfield Island Sportsfield. This considerably large sports field includes 2 pee wee diamonds, 2 midget diamonds, 2 full sized soccer/football/field hockey fields, a playground area and also has a walking trail that follows the perimeter of the park.
