NEW LISTINGS IN FAIRFIELD ISLAND

Fairfield Island is Chilliwack’s most northern residential neighborhood, bordered by the Fraser River to the north and the Hope Slough to the south. Most of the homes in the Fairfield Island area are either rancher or split level style homes and sit on large lots. Though the majority of these houses were built in the 1970’s to 1980’s there are some newer homes mainly located on Bell Road and Merritt Drive.

Although Fairfield Island is a small community, it has a couple of significant landmarks such as the well-known Minter Country Gardens, Island 22 boat launch, the most popular boat launch in Chilliwack for the Fraser River, and the 11.4 hectare Fairfield Island Sportsfield. This considerably large sports field includes 2 pee wee diamonds, 2 midget diamonds, 2 full sized soccer/football/field hockey fields, a playground area and also has a walking trail that follows the perimeter of the park.

 FAIRFIELD ISLAND SALES/ACTIVES RATIO

This graph explains the percentage difference between the number of sales to the number of listings, in any given month.

*Example: If the sales to active listings ratio for May was 25%, that would mean that 25% of the active listings in the month of May were sold.

Although not hard and fast, the rule of thumb, is that anything between 10% – 20% is a balanced market. Which in turn, would mean anything above 20% would be a sellers market, and below 10% would be a buyers market.
