NEW COLUMBIA VALLEY LISTINGS

Cultus Lake is located 11 km southwest of Chilliwack in the beautiful Columbia Valley.  The 2729 hectare park provides habitat to an array of wildlife including blacktail deer, coyote, beaver and over 100 species of birds.  At one time, Cultus Lake used to have a sawmill and booming ground but a lot changed when it became a designated Provincial Park in 1948.  Today, the 656 hectare lake is surrounded by residential homes, Provincial Park camping, and beaches making it a summer sensation.  The lake itself is very popular for boating, kayaking, water skiing and fishing and right nearby there are scenic hiking trails such as “Tea Pot Hill”.  The beautiful 18 hole Cultus Lake Golf Course is another well-known attribute as well as the Cultus Lake Waterpark, built in the 1980s, that has undergone many upgrades making it a leader in the waterpark industry on the West Coast.

Today, Cultus Lake continues to grow.  There’s new construction, pre-owned homes and vacation homes such as “The Cottages at Cultus Lake” as well as a local school that goes from kindergarten to grade 6.  Cultus Lake Community school built in 1959 is located at the North end of the lake and has approximately 150 students.  With all of the available activities and beautiful scenery, it’s no wonder why people see Cultus Lake as a great vacation spot and as a desirable community for permanent residency.

 COLUMBIA VALLEY SALES/ACTIVES RATIO

This graph explains the percentage difference between the number of sales to the number of listings, in any given month.

*Example: If the sales to active listings ratio for May was 25%, that would mean that 25% of the active listings in the month of May were sold.

Although not hard and fast, the rule of thumb, is that anything between 10% – 20% is a balanced market. Which in turn, would mean anything above 20% would be a sellers market, and below 10% would be a buyers market.
