Agassiz is a regional farming community in the upper Fraser Valley located north east of Chilliwack. With a population of over 6000, farming and other agricultural uses are the prevailing make-up of the heritage, history and community spirit of this District. Though Agassiz mainly consists of single family homes and acreages there are condos and townhomes located near the heart of the city. There are plenty of recreational things to do including mountain biking, hiking, skiing at Hemlock and golfing at one of the 5 golf courses in the area. As well, there are several lakes, rivers and creeks to swim, boat or fish. For the extremists you can hang glide at one of two world class jump off points.
